TIJUANA Baja California police announced that they arrested a man as he was allegedly trying to buy two young girls for sex.
Roman Hernández San Gabriel, 57, was paying between 700 and 1, 200 pesos ( $56 to $96) for the use of underage girls to have sex, Frontera newspapers website published Monday.
An anonymous report alerted state police agents to the alleged activities of Hernández, who reportedly had worked as a cashier for a travel agency at Tijuanas international airport.
To arrest the suspect, the authorities tricked Hernández by offering him two girls, ages 10 and 14. They arrested him at a park in the neighborhood called Centro Urbano 70-76, while he allegedly tried to pay 2, 400 pesos (about $189) for the two minors, according to the website, which did not say when the arrest was made.
Hernández allegedly confessed that his goal was to buy the girls for sex; additionally he allegedly tried to bribe the officers by offering them 8,000 pesos (about. $630) to let him go, the website reported.
The suspect will be tried on charges of human trafficking and bribery.
