Around 67 pounds of marijuana hidden inside bags of cement were found by a canine unit when a 19 year old Mexican male tried to smuggle them into San Diego, authorities of Customs and Border Protection confirmed on a press release.
The individual arrived last Wednesday at 5:30 am to the San Ysidro port of entry transporting construction materials on a white Ford Ranger 1999. When the CBP officer did a thorough inspection, the canine unit reacted to a few bags of cement.
Upon opening them up, the officers found ten marijuana packages inside five bags of cement with a street value of around $33,500.
The man was turned to the San Diego County Jail while the car and drugs were seized by the CBP.
