
In a press conference, Marina del Pilar expressed that it is fundamental to be facilitators of economic development, through the generation of well paid job opportunities for the population of the northwestern states, an aspect that is undoubtedly part of a regional vocation, due to its geographic position.
Likewise, she announced that in her administration, which will begin on November 1st, the Undersecretariat of Tourism will be elevated to a Secretariat, so that it can deploy technical and economic strengths that will strengthen tourism in all its aspects as an economic and productive activity.

The governor elect of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo Montaño, said that the priority is to take advantage of the regional potential in areas such as tourism, fishing, agriculture, livestock and public safety.
Security was another key issue, as the elected governments are committed to support the strategies of the Mexican government, headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, as well as to protect territorial borders to avoid disputes between criminal organizations.

Also present at the meeting were Víctor Manuel Castro Cossío, governor elect of Baja California Sur; Rubén Rocha Moya, governor elect of Sinaloa; and Miguel Ángel Navarro, governor elect of the state of Nayarit.
