Marina del Pilar promotes right to an adequate home for Baja Californian inhabitants

The government of Baja California, together with the government of Mexico, has worked with municipal administrations, civil organizations, and business organizations as part of the 2023 Housing State Plan. This plan has carried out 12,063 actions regarding self-production, recovery, and construction of new homes, of which 1,982 were already delivered to families who need them, Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda stated.

The state governor highlighted the coordination that several institutions have to ensure the human right to an adequate home through different actions that allow for people to acquire enough mechanisms to fulfill this guarantee.

Marina del Pilar stated that the Housing State Plan of Baja California has the resolute intention to address housing issues and promote social housing to improve access to all people.

For his part, the head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territory Redesign (SIDURT), Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, explained that the houses that are being delivered cost below 1,050,000 pesos.

He reiterated that, with this goal, several actions have been carried out from the government to claim rights, add state and municipal properties, and work together with business organizations to benefit all workers.

"Another relevant issue is that we have reduced or exempted payment rights to build social housing, through developers enrolled in the Housing State Plan," said Espinoza Jaramillo.
