As Star Wars Day approaches, fans have a new reason to celebrate. The highly anticipated Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, founded by George Lucas, is opening its doors on September 22 in Los Angeles, California and is now offering “Founding Memberships” to the public.

The museum is dedicated to the art of storytelling in all its forms, from ancient hieroglyphs to contemporary digital art. With 30 galleries, the museum will showcase pieces from George Lucas’s personal collection.

Becoming a founding member comes with several exclusive benefits, including priority access to tickets, invitations to preview events, limited-edition products, and lifetime recognition as a founding member.

Those interested in becoming founding members can visit lucasmuseum.org/membership for more information and instructions.

“From timeless myths to cinematic galaxies far, far away—stories connect us. Come join our global community as a Founding Member and enjoy insider access and benefits,” the museum said in a statement.

While the museum is not exclusively focused on Star Wars, one of its most eagerly awaited exhibits is “Star Wars in Motion,” which will feature life-sized ships, including Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder and a Naboo starfighter.

According to Lucas, the museum was built on the belief that illustrated storytelling is a universal language. It will house more than 40,000 works, making it one of the world’s most significant collections of narrative art.

“This is a museum of popular art; the images illustrate beliefs that we live with every day. That’s why this art belongs to everyone. We hope that, as they walk through the galleries, visitors see themselves reflected in them, thus recognizing their own humanity,” Mellody Hobson, co-founder of the Lucas Museum, said.
