Mayor Burgueño Backs Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign in Tijuana

A human pink ribbon was formed on the Municipal Palace, underscoring the city's dedication to the fight against breast cancer.

Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz joined female members of the City Hall to form a human pink ribbon on the Municipal Palace court. The symbolic gesture, organized by the Department for Women, underscored the city’s unity, hope, and dedication in the fight against breast cancer.

“The health and well-being of women are top priorities for this administration. By commemorating the International Day of the Fight Against Breast Cancer on October 19th, we reaffirm the critical importance of prevention and early detection,” Mayor Burgueño Ruiz stated.

The human pink ribbon event brought together key officials including City Auditor Teresita Balderas Beltrán, Councilwoman Magaly Ronquillo Palacios, and Secretary for Women Katherine Collins Barrera, along with several female delegates, directors, coordinators, and City Hall employees.

As part of this event, the local government distributed 300 mammogram vouchers to attendees through the Municipal Directorate of Public Health, Care, and Support for Citizen Security.
