Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana met with the Accredited Consular Corps in Baja California to boost cooperation and strengthen dialogue between foreign diplomatic delegations and the municipal government.
The municipal president also presented the 2025-2027 Development Plan, which outlines the guidelines and strategies for the city’s economic, social, and cultural development in the coming years.

“This administration is based on a humanistic approach, which is why we have implemented several actions in areas such as infrastructure, public services, security, sports, art, and culture, all aimed at ensuring the well-being of all Tijuana natives. This will be the best year in Tijuana’s history,” the mayor claimed.
During the meeting, Ismael Burgueño, Mayor of the City of Tijuana, was accompanied by the head of the city’s Secretariat of Economic Development, Pedro Montejo Peterson, who highlighted the creation of an open communication space that will allow for constant and cordial dialogue between the Consular Corps and municipal authorities, facilitating the exchange of ideas and binational coordination.

Meanwhile, the President of the Consular Corps and Honorary Consul of Korea in Tijuana, Xavier Peniche Bustamante, thanked the municipal president for his participation and acknowledged the actions that City Hall is carrying out to benefit all residents.
This meeting was attended by the Director of Economic Development, Oscar Higuera Betancourt; the Honorary Consul of France, Marie Helene Chabrier Aloo; the Honorary Consul of Japan, Luis Augusto Lutteroth del Riego; the Honorary Consul of Canada, Roberto Encinas Ripa; and the Consul General of Guatemala, Erick Wotzbely Cardona Chávez.
Also in attendance were the Honorary Consul of Norway, Elías Laniado Laborín; the Honorary Consul of Ukraine, Pedro Ramírez Campuzano; the Honorary Consul of Israel, Gregorio Goldstein Issacson; the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic, José Antonio González Ibarra; and the Consul General of the Republic of El Salvador, Johny Gerardo Rivera Pineda.
