Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz led the launch of the “Tijuana, Clean City” program, a comprehensive initiative aimed at transforming the city into a modern municipality and improving the quality of life for its residents.
In this first phase, “Infrastructure and Equipment at the Service of the Community,” Tijuana’s government is strengthening operational capacity across its nine delegations by providing specialized equipment. This will enable more efficient and timely responses to citizens’ needs.

Mayor Ismael Burgueño of Tijuana emphasized the coordination between the three levels of government to make this project possible:
“Today, we set a historic example of teamwork, where the priority is the well-being of Tijuana natives. Without City Hall and deputies, this would not have been possible. I also recognize Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmedo’s leadership, as she supported this initiative from the very beginning.”
Meanwhile, Municipal Government Secretary Arnulfo Guerrero León stated:
“This program is not just a promise kept, it reflects a humanistic administration that is improving people’s lives. This translates into proper roads, functioning public services, and a safer, better lit, and cleaner city.”

Virginia Vargas González, head of the Secretariat of Territorial, Urban, and Environmental Development, reported that the equipment will be available 24/7 for basic public service maintenance in the city.
The machinery includes: five motor graders, nine backhoes, five dump trucks, two water trucks, and eight pickup trucks, along with various other equipment to ensure uninterrupted maintenance.

This program includes strengthening community-focused infrastructure and equipment, proper roads, improved lighting, and waste collection, as well as enhanced security and justice.
The event was attended by Municipal Attorney Teresita Balderas Beltrán; Metropolitan Planning Institute Director Juan Diego Mascareño López; and the head of the National Center for Crime Prevention and Citizen Participation, Beatriz Adriana Olivares, as well as deputies, councilors, and beneficiaries.
