Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana will deliver his Results Report this Saturday, detailing his administration’s accomplishments during his first year leading the border city.
In a social media announcement, the mayor pledged to present concrete evidence of progress across multiple city initiatives, with particular focus on social program enhancements, community engagement, and governmental transparency.
According to the mayor, the administration’s priority remains the well-being of every Tijuana resident and building a more just, equitable city. As such, it has directed substantial resources toward several key quality-of-life projects, including expanded garbage collection services, renovations at the Animal Protection and Welfare Center, and well-being campaign events.
Notable first-year achievements include:
- Clean City Initiative: Serving more than 700,000 residents across all nine city delegations.
- Workforce Investment: A 46-million-peso allocation has supported new municipal positions, salary increases, and critical equipment upgrades for essential services.
- Waste Collection: Launch of 327 new collection routes, significantly improving urban cleanliness and public health.
- Animal Welfare Modernization: A 3-million-peso renovation of the Animal Protection Center, including new quarantine facilities and improved living conditions for sheltered animals.
- Community Outreach: Well-being campaigns and municipal service programs have reached approximately 229,000 residents.
The First Results Report presentation will take place on Saturday, October 4, at 12:00 p.m. at Unidad Deportiva Mariano Matamoros.
