Mayor Norma Bustamante presented her first State of the City address directly to residents of Mexicali’s western communities during a public event held at the Centinela Sports Complex. The gathering, attended by local citizens, deputies, and councilmembers, served as a platform for the mayor to outline the accomplishments of the 25th City Hall over the past year.

“The transformation in Mexicali does not stop. We continue moving forward to reach every corner of our capital. Today, I am here to speak to you directly, repaying the trust you placed in my government with concrete actions,” the mayor said.

  • Storm Drainage: Installation of new drainage systems in San Miguel, Villas del Paraíso, and Cachanilla, improving services for more than 12,000 people.
  • Education and Social Development: The comprehensive Pies en Movimiento program provided educational and social support to over 3,000 children and teenagers.
  • Recreation: The city launched free recreational activities, including the Libro y Pelota (“Book and Ball”) summer program, to promote community engagement at local sports centers.
  • Urban Infrastructure: New street lighting was installed along Continente Europeo Avenue.
