Mayor Norma Bustamante Highlights Progress in Mexicali

The mayor thanked residents for their continued trust and announced a new set of initiatives to address local needs.

In her State of the City address, Mexicali Mayor Norma Bustamante said her administration has consolidated the city’s transformation, outlining infrastructure accomplishments and announcing a new round of projects funded through the 2025 Participatory Budget.

Delivering the address in Ejido Nuevo León, Bustamante reflected on four years in office and thanked residents of the Mexicali Valley for their continued trust.

The mayor said that community support has translated into tangible progress, with a strong focus on infrastructure. Her administration has completed paving and street rehabilitation projects across several communities, including Poblado Paredones, Ciudad Morelos, Los Algodones, Islas Agrarias “A,” Ejido Hermosillo, Ciudad Guadalupe Victoria, and Poblado Benito Juárez.

Looking ahead, Bustamante announced a new set of initiatives selected through the participatory budgeting process to address local needs:

  • Paving Novena Street, from 29 de Septiembre Avenue to 16 de Septiembre Avenue, in Ciudad Guadalupe Victoria.
  • Paving “A” Avenue, from Sexta Street to Orantes Street, in Los Algodones.
  • Purchasing supplies for the food and beverage program at CECATI School No. 198 in Ciudad Guadalupe Victoria.
  • Rehabilitating the Sports Complex in Ciudad Coahuila to provide families with a safe, well-equipped space for recreation and sports.

“Valle de Mexicali is a land of effort and hardworking people. Together, joining forces, we will make it grow and prosper even more,” Mayor Norma Bustamante said.
