Mayor Norma Bustamante recently conducted an inspection of an infrastructure project now underway on Salina Cruz Street in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood.
During the site visit, the mayor emphasized the historical importance of the project, noting that the street had suffered from over 40 years of neglect without major repair.
“We are responding to long-standing requests from our residents,” she said. “This is more than just repaving a road; it’s about enhancing safety and ensuring quicker access for emergency responders serving the families of Pueblo Nuevo.”
The current phase of work includes the installation of a new hydraulic base followed by a fresh asphalt overlay., which will provide a more durable and resilient surface capable of handling daily traffic volumes.
The upgraded road, spanning the critical area between Oaxaca and Querétaro Avenues, is considered vital, as it provides primary access to key community facilities including the Red Cross, the municipal Sports Complex, and the Fire Station.
