Mayor Norma Bustamante personally oversaw a large-scale tire collection drive this week in the Mártires de la Democracia neighborhood. The initiative, now in its fourth edition, represents the administration’s ongoing commitment to create a cleaner and more orderly city.

“Today we conducted our fourth tire collection drive with the goal of reaching 5,000 units. This effort demonstrates that when we work together with the community, we can transform problems into solutions,” the mayor said.

Rosa Castañeda, Director of Environmental Protection, highlighted the coordination across multiple organizations, including participation from CANACO Mexicali, the Comprehensive Tire Recycling Center (CRILL), the Municipal Ombudsman’s Office, Municipal Police, and the Youth Squadron.
Officials also reminded the public of the importance of reporting properties with trash or accumulated tires by calling 911.
