Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali oversaw the renovation work on the “Boticas Pérez” soccer pitch, popularly known as Campo Necaxa, with an investment exceeding 8.8 million pesos.
“Campo Necaxa is one of Mexicali’s most iconic sports venues, where great soccer legends have played. That’s why we’re transforming it, so that children and young people can have better facilities,” the mayor said.

Didania Cazares, a local parent representative, praised Mayor Norma Bustamante’s administration for its dedication to sports. “This renovation motivates our young athletes to maintain healthy habits. We truly appreciate this project!” she emphasized.
Lastly, Alberto Ibarra, Director of Public Works, explained that synthetic turf renovation will take approximately two months. The project includes modernizing 8,000 square meters and rebuilding the storm drainage system.
