Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali Oversees Reopening of Pools at CDHI Centenario

Freestyle swimming, water aerobics, and swimming lessons are among the activities offered at this CDHI facility.

Mexicali Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali visited the Centenario Comprehensive Human Development Center (CDHI) to inspect the aquatic facilities, ensuring families in Mexicali have access to recreational spaces.

“With rising temperatures, Mexicali natives are looking for affordable ways to cool off. That’s why City Hall is providing this safe space at Centenario Park,” the mayor said.

Meanwhile, Bárbara García, Director of CDHI Centenario, announced that freestyle swimming sessions are now available Tuesday through Friday in two time slots: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:50 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, available hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cost is $34 pesos ($2 USD) per person for a 50-minute session.

Additionally, the center offers:

  • Water aerobics classes (Tuesday–Friday at 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.) for $668 pesos ($35 USD) per month.
  • Swimming lessons (Tuesday–Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) for children 5+ and teens 15+, with a recovery fee of $1,000 pesos ($53 USD) for four weeks.
