Mayor Norma Bustamante is preparing to deliver her inaugural government report, marking one year at the helm of Mexicali’s 25th City Hall. The upcoming accountability presentation will highlight an administration focused on transparency and measurable results.
In a statement ahead of her report, the mayor emphasized her role in the broader national transformation agenda.
“It’s an honor to contribute to building what we call the ‘second floor’ of transformation under President Claudia Sheinbaum’s leadership. This opportunity comes from the trust the people of Mexicali have placed in me through my re-election,” she said.
While this marks her first annual report for the current term, Mayor Bustamante noted it represents her fourth consecutive year of public accountability to Mexicali residents, who renewed her mandate in the recent election.
The mayor’s administration has organized its work around five Guiding Principles established in the Municipal Development Plan:
- Well-Being for All: Promotion of social programs and support to foster social justice.
- Safe and Peaceful Mexicali: Implementation of actions and strategies to strengthen citizens’ peace of mind.
- Mexicali Grows: Focused on improving urban infrastructure and more efficient, safer mobility.
- Governing to Serve: Promotion of a citizen-focused and transparent administration.
- Equality and Inclusion: Guaranteeing a more inclusive municipality with equitable opportunities for all.
Mayor Norma Bustamante announced that she will attend various communication outlets, communities, and sectors of society in the coming days with the goal of detailing the results of her administration and listening directly to the citizens.
