Mayor Rocío Adame of Rosarito formally handed over nine new, fully equipped patrol vehicles to the Department of Citizen Security this week. The initiative, representing an investment of nearly $830,000 USD, aims to enhance crime prevention and emergency response capabilities throughout the municipality.
The newly acquired trucks are latest-model 4×4 pickups, a substantial upgrade designed to transform the operational capacity of the Municipal Police. The mayor emphasized that providing these resources is crucial for officer safety and effectiveness.

Powered by V8 engines, the vehicles allow for immediate acceleration during pursuits and rapid response deployments. Their all-wheel-drive capability makes them ideal for navigating rural areas, rough roads, and off-road terrain where standard police cars have limitations.
Each truck is outfitted with comprehensive technology and safety features, including a GPS system for real-time monitoring and efficient resource dispatch.
The vehicles also feature a front-facing camera with night vision for improved visibility and documentation, as well as standard emergency equipment such as a light bar, strobes, siren, and push bumper. These patrol trucks are more than just transport—they are tactical tools.

“These vehicles will contribute to our coordinated work with state and federal security forces. The municipal police officers are often first responders to any crime, which is why we believe it is important for them to have very well-equipped vehicles so that our officers can perform their duties effectively and safely,” the mayor.
Mayor Rocío Adame reiterated her administration’s commitment to citizen security, framing this delivery as the first stage in a broader effort to modernize the police department and build a law enforcement agency that earns the full confidence and support of the community.

“Today, we are delivering on a promise we made to our citizens, who have consistently called for greater security. These nine new patrol vehicles, equipped with cameras to put more eyes on our streets, are a tangible step forward. But this is just the beginning; we are committed to providing our police force with even more advanced tools and equipment in the future,” the mayor stated.
With these actions, the Playas de Rosarito government reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the well-being of citizens by bolstering the Department of Citizen Security with optimal work tools, generating significant progress in crime prevention and emergency response.
