Mayor Rocío Adame of Rosarito led the closing ceremony of the Prevención al Volante (Driving Prevention) program, held on the terrace of the Municipal Palace, where she reaffirmed her commitment to promoting initiatives that strengthen road safety and security in the city.
Joined by the local Secretary of Citizen Security, Héctor Manzo Ruvalcaba, the mayor praised the efforts of police officers who, through workshops, training activities, and talks, engage directly with young people, mothers, and fathers to encourage respect for traffic signs, responsible driving, and safe interaction between pedestrians and motorists.
In her remarks, the mayor stressed that these programs help shape responsible drivers who understand that road education is essential to reducing accidents and saving lives. She also recognized the Municipal Police for their dual role: ensuring operational security while also advancing prevention and fostering community participation.
During the closing event, young participants shared what they had learned, from correctly interpreting traffic signs to maintaining emotional control while driving and respecting pedestrians and cyclists. The mayor emphasized that their involvement is crucial, as they will be the ones driving responsibly in the future and contributing to safer streets.
The program also underscored the importance of parental involvement, since their guidance and example reinforce values of respect, discipline, and responsibility at home. Collaboration between authorities, young people, and families strengthens the social fabric and helps prevent risky behaviors.
