The mayor of Playas de Rosarito, Rocío Adame Muñoz, officially launched the Summer Vacation Operation 2025 during an event held at COTUCO’s Tourist Information Module. This effort reinforces her administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety of both residents and visitors throughout the summer season.
Joined by authorities from the three levels of government, Mayor Adame emphasized that this operation focuses on safeguarding the community, enhancing mobility, and providing quality services to tourists through the coordinated work of the Citizen Security Department, the Mexican Navy, the National Guard, the State Police, Civil Protection, traffic personnel, emergency services, and tourism assistance teams.

“The safety of our people and our visitors is non-negotiable. It is a top priority for this government and for our entire community. We reaffirm our commitment to providing a safe, orderly, and welcoming tourism experience,” said Mayor Rocío Adame.
During her remarks, the mayor noted that over the past weekend, more than 50,000 people chose Rosarito as their destination to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday—15,000 on Friday, 20,000 on Saturday, and another 15,000 on Sunday.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of agencies such as Citizen Security, Traffic, Lifeguards, Civil Protection, Medical Services, and the Tourism Office, the beaches reported no major incidents.

“Rosarito Beats Safely” focuses on surveillance, prevention, and public safety
The strategy is part of the Rosarito Beats Safely (Rosarito Late Seguro) campaign, a prevention, monitoring, and assistance policy. It includes the deployment of the Special Tourist Assistance Operation covering from Plan Libertador to Santa Anita; the presence of 60 trained officers specializing in tourist proximity services; 20 patrol units per shift equipped with body cameras; 69 commercial police officers; and tourist information modules with direct assistance at COTUCO.
In case of emergencies, visitors are encouraged to report incidents through the 24-hour hotlines: 072 and 911.

Additionally, the Civil Protection and Fire Department is reinforcing key coastal areas with one light rescue unit, four fire engines, one rescue jetski, four patrol ATVs, five rapid response vehicles, one inflatable Zodiac boat, three tanker trucks, 15 firefighters per shift, and nine lifeguards working 24/48-hour shifts.
During the event, it was reported that hotel occupancy reached 100% on Friday and Saturday, and traffic flow throughout the city remained smooth thanks to joint efforts with the Navy, National Guard, and municipal agencies.

The event was also attended by Rosarito’s Minister of Tourism, Miguel Aguiñiga Rodríguez; local Minister of Citizen Security, Héctor Manzo Ruvalcaba; city council members and municipal officials; and representatives from the State Attorney General’s Office, the National Guard, the Mexican Navy, the State Police, and Civil Protection.
Through this operation, the local government reaffirms its commitment to safety as a fundamental right for everyone, strengthening Playas de Rosarito’s position as a trusted, welcoming, and secure destination.
