Mayor Rocío Adame of Rosarito Attends Siempre Viva Bridge Inauguration in Otay Mesa

The project will improve cross-border connectivity and reinforce both commercial and tourism ties with the United States.

Playas de Rosarito Mayor Rocío Adame took part in the inauguration of the Siempre Viva Bridge in Otay Mesa, San Diego, a strategic infrastructure project that will enhance connectivity in the border region.

This highly significant infrastructure project in the United States connects Interstate 11 West and Highway 905 with Enrico Fermi Street and Siempre Viva Road, while also becoming part of one of the most important binational projects between San Diego and Tijuana: the Otay Mesa II Port of Entry.

Accompanied by the state’s Secretary of Economic Development and Tourism, Irán Verdugo, Mayor Adame reaffirmed her commitment to boosting projects that improve mobility and strengthen commercial and tourism exchange between California and Baja California.

During the visit, the mayor expressed her gratitude for the invitation and acknowledged the daily efforts of U.S. authorities in enhancing border connectivity. She highlighted the work of Clarissa Falcon, Vice President of Caltrans; James Hacker, deputy secretary of CalSTA; Darnell Grisby, President of the Transportation Commission; Carolina Chávez, Chair of SANDAG’s Border Committee and Deputy Mayor of Chula Vista; Alejandra Mier y Terán, Executive Director of the Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce; and Gilberto Luna, Deputy Consul General of Mexico, whose leadership and commitment contribute to strengthening infrastructure and regional economic development.
