Mayor María del Rocío Adame Muñoz of Playas de Rosarito and Enrique Cunningham Santana, representative of Baja California’s Department of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development (SEDATU), have signed the Irrevocable Land Donation Commitment Contract. This agreement launches the first phase of the National Housing for Well-Being Program in the municipality, which seeks to provide quality housing for Rosarito residents.
The ceremony was held at the Baja California state government offices in Mexicali, where officials formalized the transfer of a plot located at 5001 Costa Alegre Avenue in the Real del Rosarito II neighborhood.

Both Irán Roberto Robles Esquivel, Regional Director of the National Housing Commission (CONAVI), and Luis Fernando Gonzáles Vergara, Secretary of Urban Development and Services for Playas de Rosarito, were present at this signing ceremony.
The mayor explained that this donation agreement will enable the construction of housing development consisting of 144 homes across 32 buildings, each with an area of 45 to 60 square meters.

“This is the legal, social, and territorial foundation so that more families can access adequate housing. Playas de Rosarito is the first municipality in Baja California to launch this federal program and we’re doing it because Rosarito is growing by leaps and bounds, because we have a government that works in coordination with federal and state authorities, and because we are committed to helping those who need it most,” the mayor said.
This project is promoted by the Mexican Government through CONAVI, in coordination with the Baja California State Government and the Playas de Rosarito City Hall. The mayor also acknowledged the support of President Claudia Sheinbaum, who has championed policies aimed at transforming families’ lives through access to proper housing.

Construction will take place on the same site where Mexico’s president laid the foundation stone a few months ago, solidifying the beginning of a project that promises to improve the quality of life for hundreds of Rosarito families.
