Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz of Rosarito held a meeting to promote a comprehensive campaign for accessibility, empathy, and respect across all sectors of the community. This initiative is being coordinated through the Commission on Disabilities, led by Councilor Gustavo Fidel Ortiz Mendoza, and the Secretariat of Mobility and Transportation.
During the meeting, Councilor Ortiz Mendoza emphasized the importance of this effort, stating:
“This is a necessary exercise in reflection and proposal. It is clear that ensuring mobility for people with disabilities is not just an act of kindness—it is a moral, legal, and social obligation. The actions presented today must translate into clearer regulations, adequate infrastructure, and, above all, a citizenry that respects and defends the rights of all.”
This meeting included key representatives from City Hall, the Secretariat of Mobility and Transportation, the Comprehensive Family Development System (DIF), the Secretariat of Well-Being, and the Multiple Assistance Center (CAM). Additionally, the importance of collaboration with intermediate organizations such as the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac), the Tourism and Conventions Committee of Playas de Rosarito (Cotuco), the National Chamber of Commerce (Canaco), and the public at large was highlighted to drive meaningful change.
Councilor Ortiz Mendoza stressed his commission’s commitment to advancing public policies that effectively address the needs of people with disabilities. In this regard, he announced that work will be done to adapt municipal regulations regarding infrastructure and other aspects that contribute to the comprehensive development of this important part of the population.
With this initiative, the government of Playas de Rosarito reaffirms its commitment to inclusion and the creation of a more accessible and equitable city for all its residents.
