In a move to strengthen universal healthcare access in Playas de Rosarito, Mayor Rocío Adame led the signing of a collaboration agreement between the municipal government and the IMSS-Bienestar program.

The agreement aims to integrate residents without social security into IMSS-Bienestar’s free public healthcare system, granting thousands of citizens access to medical services, medications, lab work, and hospital care at no cost.

During the signing ceremony, held at City Hall, the mayor emphasized the importance of the initiative in upholding the right to healthcare for all residents.

“We sign this agreement with responsibility and commitment. Our administration is working to ensure no one is excluded from medical services,” said Mayor Adame. “Today, we take a major step toward building a more just, healthier, and more humane Rosarito.”

Thanks to this agreement, a permanent registration module has been installed at the City Hall of Playas de Rosarito, where trained staff are available to assist and enroll interested residents. María Teresa Vélez became the first person officially registered as a beneficiary, marking the formal launch of the program in the municipality.

To register, residents must present the following documents: CURP, official photo ID, proof of address, and a birth certificate.

In addition to the main module, mobile registration units have been deployed in several neighborhoods and government offices to bring this benefit closer to the community. Residents can also register online at: https://registro.imssbienestar.gob.mx

Under this agreement, beneficiaries will receive free medical care, including general and specialist consultations, prescription medications, lab tests, hospital services, and care at medical units and hospitals within the IMSS-Bienestar network.

Dr. Miguel Bernardo Romero Flores, State Coordinator of IMSS-Bienestar in Baja California, praised the leadership and commitment of the municipal government, highlighting that Playas de Rosarito is among the first municipalities in the state to launch an active registration module.
