Mayor Rocío Adame toured a new municipal project this week aimed at improving working conditions for Playas de Rosarito’s Urban Services Department.
The project, located on Antonio Rosales Street in the Benito Juárez neighborhood, will adapt and build new workshop facilities for city crews. Adame was joined during the visit by architect Nora Márquez, head of PRODEUR, and Haydee Martínez, the city’s secretary of infrastructure and urban development, as officials reviewed the design and timeline.
Once completed, the facility will serve 115 city workers and centralize storage and workspaces currently spread across multiple locations. Plans include three warehouses for equipment such as canopies, paint, road signs, and tools used for street cleaning and pothole repair.

The complex will also include a kitchen and dining area, locker rooms, and separate men’s and women’s bathrooms with showers, all within a 100-square-meter site designed to support daily operations.
Adame said the project reflects the city’s effort to provide safer, more functional spaces for employees whose work often goes unseen.

“Urban Services crews are the ones who keep Playas de Rosarito running day to day,” Adame said. “This is about recognizing that work and making sure they have decent spaces to prepare for it.”

Construction is scheduled to begin in March. City officials say the project is part of a broader push to modernize municipal infrastructure and improve the delivery of basic services across Rosarito.
