First Lady Melania Trump has released a public statement urging national unity and denouncing violence in the wake of recent events in Minneapolis.

In a video address, the First Lady stated her primary goal is to promote unity and claimed she was against violence. She called for any demonstrations to be conducted peacefully and without disorder.

Melania Trump noted that President Donald Trump had spoken with Minnesota’s governor and the mayor of Minneapolis. According to her, the leaders agreed to work together to keep the situation from escalating into further unrest.
