Alejandro Cabrera Acosta is the candidate for second councilman in Tijuana for the Morena party, he is also known because it was recently revealed that he pretended to be part of the LGBTI community for electoral purposes, as he is the representative of substantive equality and non-discrimination in the planilla of the candidate for mayor of Tijuana, Montserrat Caballero.
In this regard, the representative of the Cultural Community of Tijuana (COCUT), Teresita Díaz Estrada, denounced that this candidate lied, and that while he claimed to be homosexual or bisexual, he is actually heterosexual. It was even discovered that he is married and has three children.
According to the American news portal Fox5, Díaz Estrada shared that Cabrera Acosta had stated in a meeting that declaring himself as "bisexual" had provoked a fight with his wife and that it was a lie that he had just "come out of the closet".
The reason for the lie is because the LGBTI community has few representatives in the candidates for elected office. Therefore, all parties must fulfill a quota as representatives of substantive equality and non-discrimination.
Clearly, this was not fulfilled and it is worth noting that this person is part of the slate of Montserrat Caballero, Morena's candidate to become the next mayor of Tijuana and who has also been characterized for being the protagonist of multiple scandals, such as drinking beer in the middle of a meeting about seniors, in addition to leaving out several commitments, including the first debate between the candidates.
It is worth mentioning that Cabrera Acosta is a private friend of Catalino Acosta Zavala, who was Secretary of Education in the State and who left the post to become the coordinator of the virtual campaign of Marina del Pilar, Morena's candidate for the governorship of Baja California.
