In an effort to boost cross-border collaboration, Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali held a strategic meeting with members of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. The goal was to enhance binational ties and explore joint growth opportunities for the Cali-Baja region.
“We are the only state capital in the country located on the border, which is why these meetings allow us to build and strengthen connections to drive greater economic growth in our Cali-Baja region,” the mayor said.
She also explained that, through the Mexicali Economic Development Commission (CDI), the San Diego delegation will tour several local businesses to learn about the city’s industrial sector and hold meetings with business leaders.
The meeting, held at Mexicali’s City Hall, was attended by several representatives from the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, including Kenia Zamarripa, Vice President of Public and International Affairs; Myriam Mendoza, International Business Coordinator; and David Pérez Tejada, Board Member.
Also present were Antonio Villa, President of CANACO Mexicali; Francisco Pérez Tejada, President of the CDI; Rodrigo Llantada, City Hall Secretary; and Ysmael Rodríguez, FOMYDE Coordinator
