Mexicali Mayor Norma Bustamante welcomed 21 new police officers this week following their graduation from the city’s police academy. The recruits, part of the Municipal Public Security Department’s 58th graduating class, have completed their training and will now begin patrol assignments across the city.

“Congratulations on this significant achievement. Carry the pride of this uniform with you always. Remember, being a police officer is more than a job. It is an honor and a profound responsibility to our entire community,” she said.
DSPM Director Luis Felipe Chan highlighted the rigorous preparation the new agents have undergone, including a six-month initial training program. He also stressed that the department is committed to providing continuous education to ensure officers remain equipped to protect local families effectively.

The event concluded with Mayor Bustamante swearing in the new agents, formally inducting them into the Mexicali Municipal Police.
