Mayor Norma Bustamante delivered 50,000 pesos to local entrepreneurs through “Reto Mexicali” (Mexicali Challenge), a program coordinated by the city’s Economic Development and Promotion Department (FOMYDE).
The mayor emphasized that the program aims to support ideas that boost the local economy while encouraging community participation in developing new solutions and projects.
“Ten businesses will receive 50,000 pesos each to help them continue growing,” the mayor said.
Ysmael Rodríguez, FOMYDE coordinator, explained that the projects underwent a careful selection process to ensure participants met key requirements, including a clear project plan, detailed product or service descriptions, and market research.

The ten businesses that received the aid were:
- La Rústica Pizzería
- Joshua Burgers
- Instala Fresco
- Manos a la Obra
- Miss Papelitos
- Dannies Bows
- Lintex Limpieza Integral Especializada
- Brilla Express
- Vega Cleaning Services
- Golden Rose Spa
Speaking on behalf of entrepreneurs, Alicia Díaz expressed gratitude to Mayor Bustamante for believing in their projects, noting that this support will be crucial for achieving their goals. The event also featured a conference led by Andrés Ruelas Martínez from Grupo Educativo 16 de septiembre.
