In a moving ceremony at City Hall, Mexicali Mayor Norma Bustamante recognized 23 police officers as they officially retired from the Municipal Public Security Directorate after years of service.

Held in the central courtyard, the event brought together city officials, fellow officers, and family members to celebrate the careers of the men and women who helped keep Mexicali’s neighborhoods safe.

“Today, 23 women and men are retiring with their heads held high to enjoy a dignified retirement after giving their best to Mexicali,” Bustamante said. “Thank you for your love for our city.”

City leaders also announced that each retiree will receive an additional 150,000 pesos as part of their retirement benefits. Chief Municipal Officer Claudia Beltrán said the bonus delivers on the administration’s promise to support officers as they transition into retirement.
