The Mexicali government has initiated a new operation targeting illegally placed advertisements and signs cluttering the city’s streets to combat visual pollution and restore public spaces.
The crackdown, which began on Friday, October 3rd, focused initially on the Anáhuac Boulevard area. Crews from Municipal Public Services systematically removed unauthorized posters, advertisements, and signs affixed to poles, fences, trees, and palm trees.

Juan Francisco Garza Ceseña, Director of Municipal Public Services, stated that the operation is essential for returning a sense of order and cleanliness to the city. He emphasized that these signs not only breach city ordinances but also significantly degrade the urban landscape.
“The goal is to give Mexicali a cleaner image. These unauthorized signs, beyond being illegal, actively deteriorate the environment we all share,” Garza Ceseña said.

The Mexicali Government reaffirms its commitment to maintaining a dignified urban environment for its residents, promoting respect for municipal regulations and the care of public spaces.
