Mexican pop star Kalimba became a trending topic yesterday on Twitter after sharing his point of view about the Doritos Rainbow, a product from the Doritos line that debuted in Mexico little over a week ago, described as a "gay friendly" product that openly supports the LGBT community.

"Christians, women, Jews and children all die and I don't see you creating Doritos for them. #doublethink #purehypocrisy" read his Tweet.

Of course, the backlash from Twitter users was swift and unforgiving, with people immediately questioning the singer about the way he supported all these groups mentioned in his Tweet. Kalimba's response was "16 foundations this year, and 12 the year before. Or the yearly #TGKM where I raise funds for multiple charities."

A few hours after his original Tweet, Kalimba posted a video of himself apologizing to those who felt offended and clarifying his words:

"I'm sorry if anyone felt personally offended by my Tweet, but I think that we should unite for every community that suffers from persecution… Make them all commercial or none at all."
