Benjamin Medrano Quezada, 45, is the first openly gay Mayor in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, who was recently elected and does not hide his sexual preferences. But, he instead points out that what matters is a person’s work and not one’s personal preferences. He is a man who thinks, believes and says that "manhood is not carried between the legs, but instead lays in intelligence and in convictions."

"Being a man it’s about results" and that’s what he wants to do, and not be known for his homosexuality.

Madrano has had a long public career, and has successfully held various government positions in local and state levels, for example being a local prosecutor and also the coordinator of the famous Fresnillo, Zacatecas and Nayarit state fairs.
