Mexico was ranked 23 in the 57th Edition of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), which was held in Hong Kong from the 6th to the 16th of July of 2016. The event was attended by 109 countries.

Among more than 600 students, these young men won 4 medals, three silver, one bronze and one honorable mention. The country had its participation number 31 in the Olympics this year, 29 of them coordinated by the Mexican Mathematical Society, under the responsibility of the Organizing Committee of the Mexican Math Olympiad.

To date, students of the delegations of Mexico have earned 3 gold medals, 19 silver, 54 bronze, and 32 honorable mentions.

In the results of the last four years, where all students have had a prize: 12 of the 24 students achieved gold or silver, and the other 12 bronze or honorable mention.

The six members of the delegation of Mexico are: Kevin William Beuchot Castellanos, Leonardo Ariel Garcia Moran, Antonio Lopez Guzman, Olga Medrano Martin del Campo, Jose Ramon Rangel and Victor Hugo Tuirán Almendra Hernandez.
