This information was released through an official statement by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, published in full by Mexican news outlet Excélsior.

The minor in question got close to the international border crossing, where an officer of the Nogales Station approached him, suspecting he was an immigrant without legal documentation, when the youth ran away and climbed a pedestrian sunshade. The officer in pursuit was kicked repeatedly in the face when trying to apprehend the boy.
Finally, the agent managed to put the aggressor in custody of the Nogales Border Patrol station; he was then translated to a nearby hospital, where he was discharged after a medical evaluation.
