BOSTON – The Mexican National Team suffered a 1-0 loss in the fourth and final World Cup preparation match against Portugal. A 92nd minute goal by Bruno Alves sentence the Mexicans to take off to Brazil with two consecutive losses.

El Tri actually but in a better performance in this math than in the previous three preparation matches, they controlled large portions of the match but still walked away with the loss.

Hector Herrera was the most active player with plenty of chances. In the second half he even had a point blank shot on goal the the goalkeeper was able to save. He also had an outside the box shot that forced the 'keeper'.

Javier"Chicharito" Hernandez – who was a second half sub – surpriced everyone with his quality of passes; something he is not known for. He was the one who severed up Herrer in the play that he had the point blank shot. He also laid off Alan Pulido and left him one-on-one against the goalkeeper. But the Portugueses 'keeper' charged the young striker and blocked the play.

Right as the match was going to end, a frontal cross came into the box and Bruno Alves beat his marker to ball and headed the ball past goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.

Next game for Mexico will be a week from today against Cameroon in their World Cup debut.
