Mexico's national team will face Venezuela's at Qualcomm Stadium on March 29, the third stop this year on its U.S. tour.

The teams have faced each other on nine occasions, with Mexico winning eight times and tying the other game.

The last time they played against each other on U.S. soil was on June 24, 2009, a game Mexico won 4-1 before 50,000 spectators in Atlanta.

Four days later, Mexico tied Guatemala 0-0 at Qualcomm, the last game the Mexican team played in San Diego.

Venezuela and Mexico last played each other on Oct. 12, 2010, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, a game that ended in a 2-2 tie.

The Venezuelan squad, known as Vinotinto, has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup tournament, but has been a key team in South American competitions.

Venezuela's team is led by captain Juan Arango, of the German team Borussia Mönchengladbach, and its leading scorer, Giancarlo Maldonado, who plays for Mexico's first division team Atlante. The team is preparing to play in one of the most challenging groups in the Copa América tournament, which includes Brazil, Paraguay and Ecuador.

Coach Cesar Farías expects his team to fare better than when it competed in Copa América in 2007, when Venezuela hosted the tournament and reached the quarter finals.

Mexico's team, led by José Manuel "Chepo" de la Torre, begins is 2011 U.S. tour in Atlanta, squaring off against Bosnia-Herzegovina on February 9 at the Georgia Dome.

Its second U.S. game will be against Paraguay on March 26 at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.
