External Relationships Secretary Luis Videgaray Caso said the government of our country has expressed its willingness to continue working with the United States on security matters as long as threats and grievances are left behind.

In attending the plenary session in the Republic Senate, the Minister said that during the meetings with the Secretary of State of the United States, Rex Tillerson, and Interior Security, John Kelly, he explained the way in which our country collaborates with the American Union.

He pointed out, in this sense, that the Mexican government, through the Secretaries of Interior and Treasury, expressed its willingness to continue with a relationship of broad collaboration, while having a constructive dialogue.

Luis Videgaray said that these meetings expressed the rejection of our country to any attempt by the United States to militarize migratory operations and warned that Mexico will not allow citizens of other nations to be deported to national territory.

Likewise, the head of the Ministry of External Relationships stressed that in case the human rights of our nationals in the neighboring country of the north are not respected, we will not hesitate to go to the US courts and international organizations.

On the other hand, the foreign minister stressed that in the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement our country will not accept the imposition of tariffs or quotas.

Finally, he launched a call to the Senate to join forces and work together to define the new relationship with the United States.
