In Baja California, 194 thousand 885 adults over 60 years of age have been vaccinated against COVID-19, of which 45 thousand 647 received their first dose this weekend in Tijuana, informed the head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Perez Rico.
At the same time, he mentioned that this Monday at noon a shipment with 70 thousand more vaccines was expected to arrive, to continue with the vaccination in the border city during Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday alone, more than 40 thousand doses are expected to be administered.
Due to the pending of this shipment, no vaccines were applied in Tijuana yesterday, confirmed the Secretary; however, there will be 15 vaccination points today, of which 10 will be pedestrian and five will be massive vehicular.
According to Perez Rico, 27% of Tijuanenses do not want to be vaccinated.
So far, Baja California has 6 thousand 765 vaccines, 6 thousand 305 of them are from Pfizer and 460 from Sinovac, which will be destined for second doses for the medical sector, said the Secretary.
Regarding the second doses for the population of Tecate, he indicated that they will arrive in the country today and on Thursday they will be applied in this municipality. At this point, the head of this agency reminded the people of Tecate that these will be applied at the same location where the first dose was applied.
