Tijuana’s “Clean City” program is showing tangible results, with recent operations improving conditions for more than 4,500 residents across three neighborhoods.
The initiative, led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, rotates through communities in Tijuana’s nine municipal delegations. On Thursday, cleanup crews concentrated efforts in the San Antonio de los Buenos, Playas de Tijuana and Downtown areas.
Work began in Jardines del Rubí, where a local park on Avenida Miraflores received major repairs, including sidewalk and lighting fixes, tree trimming and the removal of more than two tons of trash. Crews also repainted road markings — upgrades expected to benefit more than 3,000 residents.

In Playas de Tijuana, teams addressed bulk waste and lighting issues on Monte Rosa Street in the Las Cumbres neighborhood. Workers collected five tons of debris, added new streetlights and refreshed road markings, improving safety for roughly 500 people in the area.
The day wrapped up in the Downtown Delegation, where crews cleared silt and carried out maintenance on Del Águila Street in the Burócratas Hipódromo neighborhood. The work included road resurfacing and is expected to help about 1,000 nearby residents and commuters.

City officials say the latest round of cleanups is part of an ongoing push to improve neighborhoods and public spaces across the border city.
