Multiple Earthquakes Hit San Francisco Bay Area and Baja California Within 24 Hours

No major damage or injuries have been reported so far.

A series of earthquakes rattled the San Francisco Bay Area and Baja California in the past 24 hours, according to seismic agencies from both countries.

At least eight earthquakes were recorded between Sunday evening and Monday afternoon, with magnitudes ranging from 2.8 to 3.9. The strongest struck near San Felipe, Baja California, shortly before 3:00 p.m. local time, while several smaller tremors were felt across the Bay Area, including near Pinole and Petrolia.

No major damage or injuries have been reported so far, but the swarm has prompted local authorities to remain on alert.

  • Magnitude 3.0 on Sunday, June 8, at 6:10 a.m. CT, 65 km northwest of San Felipe, BC
  • Magnitude 3.5 on Monday, June 9, at 8:16 a.m. CT, 81 km southeast of San Felipe, BC
  • Magnitude 3.4 on Sunday, June 8, at 10:31 a.m. CT, 57 km northwest of San Felipe, BC
  • Magnitude 2.9 on Sunday, June 8, at 2:11 p.m. CT, 61 km northwest of San Felipe, BC
  • Magnitude 3.9 on Sunday, June 8, at 2:59 p.m. CT, 54 km southeast of San Felipe, BC
