This past friday was the grand opening of "La Mundial Cantineria", a new concept that mixes elements from traditional bars with modern clubs. This place definitely has that "Old world meets new world" feeling, from the decoration to the musical variety, having a DJ or a live band at any given time, to the waiters who are wearing costumes representing different countries and cultures, all of this make it a great place to just have a drink, or stay a while and have lunch, since they open early and there is free food when you purchase any beverage.
It is a great spot for meeting up with friends to watch sports, just like the day of the grand opening, when there was a soccer game where the local team Xolos was playing, and the atmosphere quickly changed from a pretty "high end" club to an authentic Mexican cantina, making the experience something quite unique.
"La Mundial Cantineria" is open Monday through Sunday from 2:00 pm to 3:30 am, and their promotions range from free bottles to anyone that's not from Tijuana, to free drinks, to everything 50% off, you can really tell the owners of this place just want people to come and have a good time without really worrying about much else.
