After extensive renovation, Pepper Park on the National City bayfront has officially reopened to the public, debuting a host of new amenities aimed at families.
The $8 million project was celebrated March 19 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the Port of San Diego, joined by local officials and community members.
New Attractions for All Ages
Among the park’s new attractions is the first splash pad ever installed along the bayfront, offering a refreshing water play area for children. Nearby, a pirate-themed playground adds to the park’s appeal, giving young visitors plenty of opportunities for adventure.
The park also now features expanded picnic areas, a terrace overlooking the bay, hillside play zones, and newly added shaded spots. Upgraded lighting and landscaping complete the transformation.
A Revitalized Waterfront Destination
According to the Port of San Diego, the renovation is part of a broader effort to turn Pepper Park into a vibrant waterfront destination where families and visitors can come together to enjoy outdoor recreation in a modern, accessible setting.
