Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar, Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño, and National Lottery Director Olivia Salomón came together at Playas de Tijuana to promote the “México with an M for Migrant” special grand draw. The event, dedicated to migrant brothers and sisters, invited Baja Californians to purchase lottery tickets, with all proceeds supporting Mexican migrants.

Tickets cost 200 pesos each and offer a chance to win from a total prize pool of 255 million pesos, divided into ten prizes. Even with just one ticket (without purchasing the entire series) buyers could win up to 25.5 million pesos. The prizes also include five awards of 110 million pesos each; fifteen of 1 million pesos; eighteen of 500,000 pesos; twenty-five of 250,000 pesos; fifty of 100,000 pesos; plus two prizes around 1.1 million pesos and two more near 550,000 pesos.

During the presentation, Olivia Salomón reflected on Tijuana’s role, saying:

“Tijuana, where the homeland begins, is not just a border, it is the first embrace and the last glance, a point of departure and return. It is a land that knows how to bid farewell with hope and welcome with pride.”

Musical group Legado de Grandeza performed the “Migrant Anthem,” honoring those who have migrated in search of better opportunities.

It was noted that President Claudia Sheinbaum designated this lottery as her administration’s first major charity, dedicated to the sons and daughters of Mexicans living far from home.

The draw will take place on September 15, marking both Mexico’s Independence Day and the start of Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States. After awarding prizes, funds will go toward providing legal assistance to migrants, including advice and lawyer representation for those unable to afford or access help to regularize their immigration status in the U.S.

Tickets are available at all National Lottery sales points, including:

  • Blvd. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz 1535, Ceceña, 22105
  • Blvd. Gral Rodolfo Sánchez Taboada 9250-Local 4, Zona Urbana Río
