TIJUANA, BC. – Tijuana Zonkeys' Captain, Omar Quintero, is back to the border town to defend its colors for the 2013 season of the Basketball Circuit of the Pacific Coast (Cibacopa in Spanish).
The Team Mexico player has been with the national team since 2003, where he was scoring leader in the FIBA Americas Championship of 2003 and sixth best scorer 2 years later. One of his best moments was getting the Silver Medal with Mexico on the 2011 Pan-American Games Guadalajara.
"I'm very happy to come back to Tijuana, I know this will be a very competitive tournament, but we will go out to the court to give everything. I hope people from Tijuana will go to support us, because they are very important for our victories. Tijuana is for me like my second home, people threat me well and I feel loved here," commented the Captain.
DEBUT AT HOME CHANGES DATES
The debut dates for Zonkeys has changed to Saturday April 13 and Sunday 14 at the basketball court of the Auditorio Municipal in Tijuana.
This news was informed by the directors from Cibacopa, which had to change dates for the start of the season.
The Mexican team will play 8 series against the same number of clubs, playing 16 games at home during regular season.
