The regular season of the NBA ended this past Wednesday night. The 30 teams that form the world's best basketball league all saw action on the day in the 15 game marathon. Of those 30 teams 16 of them will now move on to the playoffs.
Lakers last ones to get in
The Los Angeles Lakers were the last team to secure a playoff spot and they did it without playing their last game. The Utha Jazz who were competing with the Lakers for that playoff spot had lost their game against Memphis 70-86 and their hopes of a playoff spot.
Denver third place in the West
The Denver Nuggets defeated in convincing fashion the Phoenix Suns by a score of 118-98. With the win Denver clinches the number three spot in the West, Phoenix with the worst record in the NBA help boost the Nuggets into the playoffs with loads of confidence.
Wizards say goodbye with grace
Chicago Bulls suffered but ended up defeating Washington. How ever a great performance by Carlos Boozer who had 19 points and 15 rebounds helped make the difference for a team who had nothing to play for. The Bulls will move on in the fifth spot of the East.
Much doubt for Celtics
The Celtics are a team who are feeling the years start to mount up. They no longer dominate the East and ended the regular season with a loss and a poor exhibition against the Raptors. It a looks like Boston will be an early victim in the playoffs.
Tracy McGrady to Spurs
After a year in China the former Huston Rockets star returns to the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs for the playoffs. McGrady will be taking the place of the recently cut Stephen Jackson. Spurs as always is a heavy favorite for the championship and McGrady will only strengthen this team up.
Carmelo Anthony is crowned
In spite of not playing tonight Anthony was reached his first scoring title. He edged out Oklahoma's Kevin Durant who also did not play in today's game. The Knicks of "Melo" Anthony won their game 98-92 against Atlanta.
