The Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, mentioned this Friday that the coloring under which Baja California will be next week, on the COVID-19 epidemiological traffic light chart, will be announced today.
However, everything indicates that the state will change to red, since only up to the morning of December 4, 981 active cases of coronavirus were registered, located mostly in Mexicali (418), Tijuana (257) and Ensenada (211).
In addition, in the last 24 hours the entity reported 16 deaths, of which eight were from Mexicali, seven from Ensenada residents and one from Tijuana. In this same period of time, 268 new cases were registered by PCR in the region, of which 96 belong to Mexicali, 87 to Ensenada, 61 to Tijuana, 13 to San Quintín, five to Rosarito, four to Tecate and two to San Felipe.
This is how the state reached 4 thousand 342 deaths from COVID-19 on Friday, and an accumulated 26 thousand 615 positive cases.
Given this, and the projections for Baja Californians due to this pandemic, the Secretary of Health said:
"If for three weeks we use masks and only make essential activities, this pandemic in Baja California will decrease exponentially, we can lower these curves, these curves do not decrease by the work of the Holy Spirit, we have to unite".
