In a major push to position Valle de Guadalupe as a world-class destination and strengthen its competitiveness, Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda has unveiled an ambitious strategy to overhaul transportation, repair key roadways, and strengthen public security in the heart of Baja California’s wine country.

The centerpiece of the plan is a brand-new bus terminal set to open its doors in the coming days. The facility will run daily routes connecting Valle de Guadalupe to key cities across the state, making it easier than ever for tourists to explore the area’s celebrated wine routes and restaurants to benefit the region’s entire tourism value chain.

The governor’s office has also approved a $4.5 million peso investment to repave local roads using hydraulic concrete and asphalt mix. The upgrades aim to guarantee safe, smooth travel to the valley’s growing roster of health retreats, hospitality hubs, and acclaimed kitchens, an essential step for any destination with global ambitions.

On the security front, Governor Marina del Pilar has ordered the immediate start of construction on a new operational base for the State Citizen Security Force (FESC) to be located right inside Valle de Guadalupe. The move is expected to slash emergency response times and establish a visible security presence. Combined with ongoing operations in neighboring municipalities, the base aims to ensure peace and confidence across the wine corridor.

According to State Tourism Secretary Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, his team has been working closely with local businesses and community leaders to turn the governor’s vision into reality. The result, he says, is that Valle de Guadalupe not only remains Mexico’s top wine producer but also evolves into a benchmark for premium hospitality and integrated safety backed by strong leadership from the state government.
