The government of Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana continues to promote the “Tijuana: Clean City” program, which expanded this Saturday with three new cleanup campaign events in different parts of the city, benefiting more than 14,000 residents. The program aims to reclaim public spaces and improve urban environments for the well-being of Tijuana families.
The day began at Villa Aventura Park, located in the Villa del Real neighborhood in La Presa A.L.R. Delegation, where crews pruned vegetation across 200 square meters, carried out a general cleaning, and collected seven tons of trash.

The work was overseen by Deputy Jorge Ramos Hernández, Councilwoman Magaly Ronquillo Palacios, and Acting Delegation Head Gabriela Ponce Velázquez. This effort reflects the collaboration between authorities to address community needs directly.
Deputy Jorge Ramos Hernández told residents:
“We are happy to be working hand in hand with Tijuana’s Municipal Government. As a local legislator, I had the privilege of approving this unprecedented initiative, which focuses on creating a cleaner city by rehabilitating parks and public spaces.”

Later, in the Presidentes neighborhood in the Cerro Colorado Delegation, staff from the Secretariat of Territorial, Urban, and Environmental Development (SDTUA), alongside local residents, cleaned a 720-square-meter hillside area, removing trash, debris, and overgrown vegetation.
The event was supervised by Adriana Barrera Hernández, Acting Delegation Head Coordinator, and Delegate Rosa Margarita García Zamarripa, benefiting over 5,000 people, with residents expressing gratitude for the long-awaited attention to their community.

Finally, in La Morita I in La Presa Este Delegation, crews carried out a full park restoration, including cleaning 1,000 square meters, repairing 9 streetlights, and repainting 80 meters of road signage to benefit around 4,000 residents.
Participants included Adriana Barrera Hernández, Acting Delegate Coordinator, Joaquín Sandoval Chávez, Acting Delegation Head, and Eduardo Araux Soto, SDTUA representative.
Adriana Barrera emphasized that these efforts are part of Mayor Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana’s comprehensive strategy to transform urban spaces, encourage civic engagement, and strengthen community bonds across all Tijuana’s delegations.
