The Playas de Rosarito government has wrapped up the first phase of its Rosarito Impulsa (Rosarito Boost) entrepreneur program, calling the pilot a clear success.

The initiative is part of a broader city effort to support new businesses, help informal ventures become fully registered, and strengthen the local economy. Officials say the program reached more entrepreneurs than expected and delivered practical results for small business owners.

Launched under Mayor Rocío Adame, Rosarito Boost was designed as a hands-on training and early-stage accelerator for local entrepreneurs and small businesses. The program focused on practical skills, guidance, and certification, rather than theory.

Funding came through Baja California’s Business Trust (FIDEM), with planning support from the Rosarito Economic Development Advisory Council. City officials said the partnership helped turn public funding into direct, local impact.

During its first round, the program issued 34 certifications, graduated 26 entrepreneurs, and worked directly with more than 50 local small and medium-sized businesses.

City leaders credited the early momentum to a focus on creating opportunity, helping businesses operate formally, and building a stronger local economy. Business groups and state agencies were also involved and have signaled support for future rounds.

The city said it plans to continue rolling out similar programs aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and encouraging sustainable economic growth in Rosarito.
